I am a freshman in college just starting my long road to a degree and I wanted to make a web
page to show everyone college isn't as bad as they imagine. Anyone can do it. I did and I never thought I could
so if I can do it so can you.
College
When I graduated high school I had the image that college was a huge place, where only the smart
could go, and that if I was going to go I was going to have to work really hard and study alot. Well I wasn't to far from
the truth. I wanted to stay close (go far) to home, and didn't want to start out at a big university, so I chose
Rose State. I have found that some of my classes are hard and require lots of studing. But I have other classes that I don't
even pay attention in class and still manage to get a good grade. So I don't have to study alot but I do have to study. As
far as the people that I go to school with, well all walks of life go to college. I have met people who are still in
high school, trying to get a head start, and I have also met people who are older with families trying to get a better life.
College doesn't require you to be smart just willing to learn. Get the will to learn and you can succeed.
A Little Push
My parents success' in life have always influenced me to push for all my goals. I don't know that I would have
strived to go to school had my parents not told me that I could be more successful with a degree. When I was younger I was
always singing "I don't want to grow up I'm a toys-R-us kid" but mom told me I had to grow up whether I wanted to or not.
So I faced reality and jumped in head first.
